Born and raised in the Binghamton region of Upstate New York, Bill quickly learned that personal responsibility and self reliance are the principles that make this country great. At the age of 13 he had his first job as a newspaper carrier and recognized early on the importance of reliability, hard work, continuous improvement and the self determination that a person has the ability and the right to make each life their own.
Always looking for new opportunity, Bill decided that prosperity and a better life was in the great city of New York. With that goal, Bill attended Manhattan College in Riverdale section of the Bronx. There he studied Finance and Economics while volunteering his time as the Baseball Team Manager and working for the Sports Media Relations office.
Upon leaving college, Bill stayed in New York and built his career in Advertising and Marketing. Obtaining success from one venture to the next and growing a solid network of friends and associates. After a few years living in Brooklyn, Bill moved to Inwood in 2005.
During this time Bill and his business partner Vidura Barrios created a new media company called Innersplendor Media. Innersplendor dedicates itself to creating music and new media for yoga, meditation, stress and sleep aid. Bill was able to begin this new venture with the help of the NYC Business Solutions Upper Manhattan Bureau. Innersplendor was created in Inwood and employs three people and utilizes many of the other small businesses in the Inwood/Washington Heights area. Bill is a proud resident and business owner of Upper Manhattan.
Politics entered Bill’s life in August of 2007 during the Presidential primaries. Bill’s belief in limited government, free markets, low taxes, civil liberties and strong property rights lead him to Congressman Ron Paul’s campaign. Thirty plus years of government planning in the lives of the people and the economy have resulted in a system where “We the People” are over taxed, over regulated and over run by bureaucrats. The Democrats have given us a education system ranked near the bottom of developed nations, turned a housing problem in the 1970’s into the crisis it is now, offered a health care solution that burdens our business’s and their solutions are only to create more debt, more taxes and overall less prosperity.
Prosperity for us and future generations is the overwhelming reason that Bill Buran is in this race for NY Assembly. The Democrats are satisfied in keeping people comfortable in poverty, while Bill wants to provide the same benefits, opportunities and tools he had available to him so as to empower and prepare people for the new millennium.
We need new and bold answers to the problems facing the people of Upper Manhattan. No longer can we rely on career politicians who only play by clubhouse rules that only tax and spend us into serfdom. This is Un-American and not what the people of New York City believe in. The foundation of freedom is having choice.
This year, Real Change is Having a Choice.
